This picture shows color and contrast. It was photographed very well and you can see it was set up. It interesting how the helmet seems to be floating on the water. It's really frozen but that's what it looks like. The helmet an dbird bath cast a purple looking shadow. the sun light shows the opposite color of the white helmet. When I look at this and describ it: I see a cement bird bath with water frozen in it and a helmet sitting on top. There is a shadow casted to the right of the picture showing the whole bird bath and helmet in the side of a white shingled house. You can't really capture a green shadow for the red on the helmet because it's not really 3-D or sticking out to make a shadow.
It kind of relates to Paul Cezanne's paintings because he always has the casting shadow of anything white looking purple or as all sorts of different colors in it to cast a shadow.

vibrance

The vibrant colors of the matching sweatshirts make this photo attractive to the eye. The 80's workout look also gives it another nice look.

Looking at this picture you would'nt realize that this is a dance team but it is. They are standing on the track at a football feild waiting to dance.

The composition could be better in the photo, but the color is good to me. Also, the placement good be a little better too.

This picture is very cheerful, and to me makes you want to join in on the fun that was to be had that night. I guess you could call it a playful picture.

depth & perseption

I definitely see depth in this picture. The drive way carries out to a perceptive point.
This picture was taken at the end of a drive way making the drive way get smaller. the tree covers the drive way with a shadow of the coldness.
The composition of this picture is good to me. the drivway lays off to the right side of the picture.. and it is all icy.
Not much of a story here though. it just looks like an icy wnderland.
It doesn't really look anything like William Kandridge's stuff but it does show depth and perception.

Self portrait

There is a lot of color in this portrait picture. The backround really brings out a lot in my mind. It gives a deeper deapth to the shadow around the head. It also makes the eyes pop. The composition of this picture is good. Also, the lighting could be duller but it makes it interesting. When I look at this i see a pink tie died backround with a blonde headed girl wearing a red tank top with greenish blue eyes a nice big smile and white teeth. curly hair and long eye lashes. it doesn't really relate to the artist all that much but it is definately a defining portrait.

perspective

This picture represent point perspective with the house. It would be a two point perspective because of the way the picture was taken. You can't see the whole house but you can still tell. When I look at it i can see that the point of the perspective would be to the right of the picture and about where the fence ends near the house itself.
In this photo you see a house near the right side of the picture. When you look at it, the house is angled so that the back and left side are showing. So the perspective is where the side and back connect. Which is also where the fence connects to the house, which is where the perspective point is.
I think that the picture could be placed better in the photo so you could see the whole house but it still seeks a point. There's jus really light colors too.
This photo jus makes me think of an old house back in the day.
It's pretty similar to Edward Ruschas Photo's of gas stations and such. but his are more artistic then the one I have to represent point perspective. But it still brings the point across.

Fossilized

This picture looks fossilized when i first look at it. I notice the chain linked fence when i first looked at it also. The tree looks so busy and full. The fence is not like that so it stood out to me the most. The branches on the tree are a very strong part of the photo to me because they're so bold. There are also power lines that run through the tree but you can barely notice them.

Looking at this photo I can see a short, wide, old tree. It takes up the whole area. There's a chain link fence at the bottom of the page. Power lines run through the top of the tree, and there's a wishing well to the left of the tree. It looks like it was engraved onto a cement block of metal. It's all gray.

There are not very many variety of values in the piture. But you can see the darker parts of the picture and you can tell what it is. You can't really tell the tree from the backround though. it's herd to make out. But you can see where things start and end and if one thing is in front of another. It is a vary plain color but i think it looks very fossil like and i like that look. This tree is not centered in the picture either which makes even more neat looking.

If i think about this picture i think of winter and fairytales. It doesn't have much color but that's what i see when i look at it.

It pretty much looks like a rock or cement. Only fossilized.

This photo relates to other things in the world because it's a picture that is part of earth. It also relates to Richard Serra's photos and drawings because of the visual texture of the photo. This is a little different though. but it's similar.

Shadow & Sun

This photo has allot of values in it. It's very crystallized too. When i look at this picture i feel cold warm at the same time. the ice on the trees keeps you thinking it's cold. But the sun shining through the trees keeps the picture feeling warm and relaxed. When I look at it the first thing I noticed was the gleaming branches.
These are trees that have been sitting through the winter without any heat. The sun shines on them too delicately and the air is too cold. So, the trees will not get any heat to melt the ice off their branches.
Looking at this picture you can see that it was taken by looking up into the sky but not completely, it's at an angle. it's like a circle of trees with a building in the back round. it's sunny but you can tell it's freezing because of the ice. it does look like it's melting because the sun is shining on it.
This photo makes me think of a fairytale. it's so pretty and delicate.
This photo shows the different values like in Edgar Degas paintings. they are very similar, but it's hard to tell since ones a photo and the other is a painting.
